The initial idea for our Tumbl Bear baby hats came to one of the founders at a family barbecue - the birthplace of many great Aussie inventions

His young niece misjudged her height, hurting herself after running into a piece of play equipment. She was luckily fine - escaping with a bruise and cut - but it got him thinking about how to prevent future mishaps.

At the time, the only answer appeared to be a helmet, which seemed far too intense for what we would call essential ‘life lessons’, as kids find their feet, run and play! But we also knew that play time and safety must go hand-in-hand.

As a result, Tumbl Bear impact absorbing baby hats were created. Embedded with a thin layer of impact reducing foam, each Tumbl Bear looks and wears exactly like an everyday baby hat. It is comfortable, provides protection, and looks pretty darn cute!

Tumbl Bear isn’t about being over-protective or ‘helicopter parenting’. Babies and toddlers fall over, they hurt themselves – it’s all part of life. It’s about letting our babies play whilst providing a level of protection against those inevitable bumps and knocks. Oh, and giving parents a peace of mind!
